Ed Reed goes back to Baltimore, again. This time with Rex Ryan and the New York Jets who head to Baltimore to play a very important game against the Ravens. The Jets season has been nothing less than dramatic. They have not won back to back games all season, but still find themselves in the playoff hunt. The defending Super Bowl champions are also looking to get back into the playoff hunt after a dreadful season so far.
Joe Flacco and Ray Rice have really struggled this season. It looked s though Flacco might be getting back one of his favorite targets back this week in tight end Dennis Pitta, but he was not activated yesterday and will not play. While they won’t get Pitta back, they do get DT Haloti Ngata back for this game. That should help stop the Jets running game that has had some very big games this season. Baltimore’s running game has been non-existant all season and many are waiting for Ray Rice to have a breakout game. He had a season best 174 rushing yards last week agains t a very depleted Chicago defense. The Jets are a much tougher defense and the offensive line will have their hands full with the Jets defensive front. The Ravens have won the last seven meetings against the Jets.
Huge game for both teams, but I see the Ravens winning this one at home. The turnovers for Geno Smith has been a huge problem all season and this Ravens defense will do everything it can to make him uncomfortable when he drops back. Joe Flacco should play better against a questionable Jets secondary and that should be the difference in this game. Jets vs. Ravens- who you takin?
