As if the New York Jets do not get enough press for every thing that they do, a new headline can be added to tomorrow’s newspapers. Tonight, the Jets held an intrasquad scrimmage (The Green vs. White game) in which the teammates play each other. This might not have been such a great idea. One of the Jets’ most explosive players on and off the field, Santonio Holmes, appeared to have broken a rib during a touchdown drive after Antonio Cromartie drilled him. Did Cromartie forget that this was not an actual game and he did no have to hit quite that hard? The Jets caught quite the break when they learned that X-rays were in fact negative and he is listed as day to day. Holmes became famous last season when he and quarterback Mark Sanchez appeared to have a good amount of tension between the two. I am sure most wide receivers would feel the same if they went from having Big Ben to Mark Sanchez throwing the ball. Maybe it is time the Jets learned a lesson from their instate rival and defending Super Bowl Champion to just lay low and not try to focus on having every camera at practice. The media attention has not worked for them so far, maybe it is time to just focus on, well practice.
