The checkered flag has been waved and Jimmie Johnson wins this year’s Daytona 500! It looked like it could have been anybody’s race to win, but Johnson turned it up at the end. Danica Patrick was in the top 5 for most of the race thanks to help from fellow teammate Dale Earnhardt Jr., but sadly fell to the back of the pack in the last lap. She did place eighth in the race which is a huge accomplishment. It is the highest a woman has ever placed in Daytona history!!! Here is the official top 10 finishes: 1. Jimmie Johnson, 2. Dale Earnhardt Jr., 3. Mark Martin, 4. Brad Keselowski, 5. Ryan Newman, 6. Greg Biffle, 7. Regan Smith, 8. Danica Patrick, 9. Michael McDowell, and 10. J.J. Yeley. Luckily, all the fans were safe today and got to enjoy the big race! Congrats to Jimmie Johnson and Danica Patrick!
