Jonathan Martin finally addressed the media tonight after leaving a seven hour meeting with lead investigator Ted Wells. Unfortunately, his statement did not answer any questions about what caused him to abruptly leave practice two weeks ago.
All the offensive lineman said was, “”Today’s meeting is consistent with my commitment to cooperate with the NFL’s investigation into my experience as a player on the Miami Dolphins. Although I went into great detail with Mr. Ted Wells and his team, I do not intend to discuss this matter publicly at this time. I do, however, look forward to speaking directly with Stephen Ross, Tom Garfinkel and the Dolphins organization at the appropriate time.This is the right way to handle this situation. Beyond that, I look forward to working through the process and resuming my career in the National Football League.””
That really did not answer any questions about what happened or how much the Dolphins organization knew that there was something wrong. Despite reports that he is suffering from PTSD and depression, Martin appeared happy, smiling as he walked into the building. It does not appear that Martin will have a sit down interview in the near future like Richie Incognito, and we may never know the real truth. Let the speculation continue…
