Yesterday it was reported that New York Knicks player JR Smith was out late the night before Game 1 of the second round of the playoffs. The 40/40 Club reported that the reigning Sixth Man of the Year was partying there for the Mayweather Jr. fight.
The next day was the Knicks game against the Indiana Pacers. The Knicks came out flat and lost the first game of the series against a very physical Pacers team. Smith became a target of fans’ rage for his 4 for 15 performance on the court. Clearly tired of hearing that his partying ways were to blame for his poor shooting day, he took to his Twitter and sent this message out:
It looks like someone is lying… Do you believe the 40/40 Club or JR Smith who has been known to enjoy the nightlife? Either way all the blame cannot be put on Smith’s shoulders as the Pacers came out faster and stronger than the Knicks entire lineup yesterday.
