Cleveland Cavalier guard JR Smith got great news hours before his team played the Boston Celtics in game four of the Easter Conference Finals. Smith and his wife Jewel were able to bring home their five month old daughter Dakota for the first time since she was born. Dakota was born five months premature and has been staying in the neonatal intensive care unit at Hillcrest hospital in Ohio. Having been born weighing just one pound, she now weighs over seven.
Smith has chronicled the journey since Dakota’s birth on his social media. When she was born, the couple posted a video announcing what doctors had told them about their baby girl. It has not been easy for the star, but he never gave up. Today, he was finally able to post the couple taking their daughter to her real home. The couple has two other daughters, Demi and Peyton.
