True Blue, a no-hitter for LA is what he threw!
A historic night at Chavez Ravine, as Dodgers star pitcher, Clayton Kershaw, did just that, throwing his first ever no-hitter, coupled with a career-high 15 strikeouts in their 8-0 rout over the visiting Colorado Rockies.
The two-time National League Cy Young award recipient is now the second Dodger pitcher to accomplish this feat so far in the 2014 season after teammate, Josh Beckett, did so at the end of May. Both flying the Dodger blue colors, they remain the only two pitchers having thrown a no-hitter within the majors as a whole this season thus far as well.
As if story book written, the man wearing #22 turned a page Wednesday night, capping his historic night with the acquired knowledge he has also just thrown the 22nd no-hitter in Dodger history.
Take about fate.
Having shutout the team leading the majors in overall batting average- top of the NL charts in both homers and runs- the Dodgers look ahead, as they hope the magical play of their leading man will ignite some fire for their upcoming 6-game road trip.
