144764956_crop_650x440Such a gracious move by one of the NBA’s classiest players.  Kevin Durant has had some great memories in Oklahoma City and proudly calls it his home. This is why he knew he had to help after watching what his neighbors had to endure yesterday.  He has vowed to help those who lost everything by donating $1 million to relief efforts through his charity.  Durant was lucky enough to not be in Oklahoma at the time.  As the day went on and I saw the footage and the casualties and the houses being blown away, it was tough to see,” said Durant.  I call Oklahoma City my home. I go through Moore all the time. It’s unfortunate. We’re going to come together as a city like we always do and we’re going to bounce back.”  Durant is also volunteering his time when he heads back to Oklahoma.  He plans on visiting the hospitals and some of the children affect by the disaster just to even make them smile and forget about how bad things are for a few minutes.  The Oklahoma City Thunder and NBA plan to match Durant’s donation.   Great player and more importantly a great guy.
