If you did not already love Kevin Durant, you absolutely will after watching the video above. It was announced earlier that the Oklahoma City forward was this year’s MVP. It comes off an incredible season for the 25-year-old who averaged over 30 points a game.
Fighting back tears, Durant delivered his acceptance speech and thanked every one of his teammates individually; naturally saving his right hand man Russell Westbrook for last. It was not all sad. In fact, Durant cracked quite a few jokes at his teammates’ expense! It is rare to see athletes speak from their heart, but that is exactly what Durant did. Talking about each of his teammates it is clear this is a group who really does enjoy playing with one another.
Seeing Durant be so open and emotional just makes him even more likable. You cannot help, but root for a guy who is not only one of the best players on the court, but one of the best ambassadors off of it. Mama Durant should be so proud. Nor for her son winning the MVP, but for the wonderful man he has become. Congrats KD!
