He’s back! The guy who helped Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant win NBA Championships is officially back in the NBA.  The New York Knicks held a press conference this morning announcing that the “Zen Master” will officially take over as president. Former president Steve Mills will still be a part of the organization as the general manager.

During his press conference, Jackson said,”I am honored to have the opportunity to work with [Knicks owner] Jim Dolan.  I have gotten to know Jim and he is totally committed to delivering a winner for New York. I started my career as a Knick, and know what it feels like to win in this great city. I take the task of helping to deliver a winning team to our fans seriously, and look forward to combining my vision of the game with Steve Mills’ abilities as a General Manager.”

Jackson confirmed that he signed a five year deal with the team and fully expects the Knicks to be a winning team in that time.  The man who won eleven titles with his signature triangle offense plans on bringing the system to New York.  It is unclear if he will be teaching the system to Mike Woodson or a new head coach of his choosing.  He also plans on Carmelo Anthony being a part of the Knicks future and will include him in his plans for the team.  The last time the Knicks won a championship, Phil Jackson was a forward on the team.
