Based off the Knicks’ domination in this series, it is clear that there is a very real power shift going on in the Atlantic Division. For years, the Celtics had been a powerhouse, but now that Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce are older they have started to crack and the Knicks have noticed. The Knicks have been playing great all year and if they win today, they will definitely evoke some fear in the Miami Heat. However, they will have to win without Sixth Man of the Year, J.R. Smith who is serving a one game suspension after elbowing Jason Terry in the face during Game 3.
While the Knicks should win this game, the Celtics will give them all they got. The Celtics are an extremely prideful team and will not go down without a fight. Without J.R. Smith, the Celtics have their best opportunity to win a game. If the Celtics do get swept, it will be a long offseason for Doc Rivers and Danny Ainge who will be forced to decide if it is time to trade Kevin Garnett or Paul Pierce or both. The Celtics should steal this one just based off of pride. Knicks or Celtics, who you takin?
