espnapi_dm_131207_nba_stephena_kobe_wmainHuge blow to Kobe Bryant’s return plans as he will now be sidelined for another six weeks.  An MRI revealed the Lakers star had a fracture of the lateral tibial plateau in his left knee.  The injury will sideline him for at least six weeks.   Bryant suffered the injury during the third quarter of the Lakers game against the Memphis Grizzlies.

He suffered a torn Achilles tendon in the same leg less than a year ago.  He had just started making his return back to the court from that injury less than two weeks ago.  Coach Mike D’Antoni commented on Bryant’s injury earlier, “You hate it for Kobe. He worked so hard to get back. But he’ll be back. He’ll be back in six weeks, and we’ll deal with it and weather the storm until he gets back.”  Steve Nash and Jordan Farmar are also sidelined for the Lakers.
