Lakers Teammates Nick Young & Jordan Clarkson Accused Of Assault

Los Angeles Lakers’ teammates, Nick Young and Jordan Clarkson are currently under investigation by the team due to sexual harassment claims made by two women. The Lakers are taking these claims “very seriously” and have already begun their investigation into the alleged incident.

The incident allegedly occurred on Sunday evening around 7:30 to a woman named Alexis Jones and her mother. Young and Clarkson pulled up next to Jones and her mother where they allegedly made sexual gestures to the two women. Jones and her mother quickly became uncomfortable but didn’t hold back from the men. Almost immediately after the incident, Jones posted to her Instagram account which included a picture of Young and Clarkson with a very powerful caption.

There is a certain irony in this case because Jones is directly connected to the NBA. Jones is the co-founder and author of ‘I AM THAT GIRL’ whose mission statement reads, “I AM THAT GIRL is helping girls to transform self-doubt in to self-love by providing a safe space to connect and have honest conversations about things that matter. Every day, girls are bombarded with messages that attack what she is NOT and we work every day to help her love who SHE IS; to see that in herself and inspire that in others.” Jones’ connection to the NBA, however, comes from her organization, ‘ProtectHer’ which “address the ever-growing issue of domestic abuse and sexual assault on campuses” and around athletes/athletic programs, but she has been looking to branch out into the professional sports world starting with NBA.

While Nick Young and Jordan Clarkson have yet to release statements, Young posted a tweet after that incident. The tweet read “Aye if you want some attention take a pic of me and say anything next to it and post … The world we live in” which is a direct shot at Jones.  Young has since taken the tweet done, but the incident with Jones could not have come at a worse time for Young. News broke earlier this week that Nick Young and fiance, Iggy Azalea have postponed their wedding. Since the incident, Jones has received any apology from the Lakers organization and Lakers’ spokesman John Black suggested Jones come in and speak to all of the players.
