It was a miracle that former NBA star Lamar Odom was still alive after being found unconscious in a Nevada brothel this past Tuesday. It was even more incredulous when news broke that Odom was off life support and able to open his eyes. ESPN reporter Ramona Shelburne reported that he is doing “way, way better”. Reports are that he is able to form sentences and breathe on his own. Odom remains at Sunrise Hospital surrounded by family and friends.
His estranged wife Khloe Kardashian has not left his side since he was admitted to a Las Vegas hospital. He has received visits from former teammate Kobe Bryant and Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak as well as an outpouring of support from almost everyone in the NBA. Clippers players Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, and DeAndre Jordan were in China, but when they arrived back in the United States they made sure to stop in Las Vegas first to check on their former teammate. Odom only played with the Clippers’ big three for one season.
Odom is still not out of the woods yet, but it is great to see that he continues to make improvements!
