The media has tried to create controversy all week with this game. Everywhere you turned, Dez Bryant and Calvin Johnson were being compared. Both players decided not to fuel the fire and instead respected each other’s ability. Both wide receivers are talented, if you had either on your team, you would be happy. Other players who can make a difference in today’s game, running back DeMarco Murray and Reggie Bush are both expected to play today despite having some injuries. However, it is looking less and less likely that Murray will be able to play today. One player who will likely be off the field this week, Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Ware who is still dealing with a thigh injury. Ware suffered the injury against the Washington Redskins and will likely miss even more time.
Both Matthew Stafford and Tony Romo have had red hot starts. Both have thrown for 15 touchdowns, trailing only Peyton Manning who has 25 already this season. The Cowboys are coming off a huge divisional win last week against the Philadelphia Eagles and with a win today, could really pull away in the NFC East. That is, if the New York Giants are able to hold off the Eagles today.
The Cowboys are coming in off a huge win, but I give a slight advantage to the Lions. Ndamukong Suh is peaved with the NFL and he is going to channel his rage towards Tony Romo. Not many offensive lineman can matchup with him, and Suh will force Romo to scramble out of the pocket. When Reggie Bush has played, he elevates this offense that makes defenses stay on the field and gives Stafford another option besides throwing to Megatron who is in triple coverage. DeMarco Murray coming back will help balance the Cowboys’ offense, but it does not sound like he is 100 percent. Lions vs. Cowboys- who you takin?
