The Eagles have really turned themselves around from a year ago, but welcome in the NFL’s most explosive offense. The Philadelphia Eagles no longer look like the 2-14 team of last season. They seem to have found their franchise quarterback in Nick Foles, who has yet to throw an interception. He looks to lead this team to a fifth straight victory. The Lions, however, are coming off a big win on Thanksgiving against the Green Bay Packers.
While we have come to expect Detroit to put up a lot of points on opponents, it was their defense who really impressed during the game. The Packers were still without quarterback Aaron Rodgers, but the Lions defense held Green Bay to 126 total yards of offense. They look to have a repeat performance today, but admit that Foles makes good decisions and it will be a challenge to get turnovers. One way to do that, get a lot of pressure on Foles and force him to make throws he does not want to make. The Lions have had eleven sacks over the last two games and with Ndamukong Suh and Ezekiel Ansah on the defensive line, the Eagles offensive line will have their hands full.
This will be the biggest challenge for the Eagles during their hot stretch. This could easily be a team they would face if they make it to the playoffs. The Lions passing game may expose the Eagles secondary today and allow the Lions to take a significant lead in the NFC North race. If Reggie Bush can hold onto the football and Matthew Stafford can throw the ball away instead of trying to force a throw, they should win today. The weather will also provide a challenge for Nick Foles who is from Texas and played in Arizona for college. Eagles vs. Lions- who you takin?
