While most of the power has been restored to those affected by Hurricane Sandy, there are still some areas that are completely destroyed. Most of those areas are in Queens and Long Island, right by CitiField, where the New York Mets play. Now the Mets might not be the greatest of teams, but they are allowing their fans to help their fellow fans still suffering. They will be hosting a food drive in the parking lot. The Mets have partnered with City Harvest to help those in Breezy Point, Red Hook, and Rockaway. The drive takes place November 14th from 9am-5pm. You never know which players just might show up to lend a hand!
As some incentive to donate, the Mets are offering 15 percent off at the team storm for those who donate and 20 percent off season ticket holders who donate. Those who donate ten or more items will receive to vouchers for tickets to a game in April. City Harvest is mostly looking for cereals, peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, and canned fruits and vegetables.
