While normally the Mets are insignificant, the team does have a young stud pitcher named Matt Harvey. He is currently the hottest pitcher in the game with a 3-0 record and 0.82 ERA. Tonight, he will face Stephen Strasburg of the Washington Nationals who has long been considered the best young pitcher in the game. The Mets just ended a road trip in which they dropped the last three games in Colorado and could desperately use a win. Harvey can be that stopper for a team that is basically in a transition year. The Nationals have already made the transition and look like a formidable contender for the playoffs. Bryce Harper is emerging into a superstar and has stepped up as a young leader. This will be the first time the NL East rivals meet this season.
This is shaping out to be a very exciting pitching duel between two young stars. The Mets are looking to bounce back after a very shaky defensive performance in the past few games. Hopefully, getting out of the brutally cold weather will help loosen this team up and get them back on pace. They will need to play better to have a chance at a win against a very good Washington team. Nationals or Mets, who you takin?
