Apparently, the Miami Dolphins are getting sick of losing and have decided to take action. Rumors have been swirling for days on how the Dolphins were going to handle their coaching staff, especially after their trip to London.

After the Dolphins played against the Jets in London and lost 27-14, enough was enough, especially after Ryan Tannehill threw two interceptions. Sunday marked their third loss in a row and marked the last game that former head coach Joe Philbin would take part in. Today, the news broke that the Dolphins would be firing Philbin who made his start in Miami in 2012.

The Miami Dolphins have issued a press release on their official website on the matter, “This was a tough decision for me to make knowing how tirelessly Joe worked in his four years here to make this a winning team. He is a man of the highest character and integrity that I developed a close personal relationship with. I am extremely disappointed with how we have started the season, but I feel confident that we can improve quickly with the talent we have on our roster. We will soon be announcing an interim coach to lead the team going forward.”

The statement comes directly from the owner of the Dolphins, Stephen Ross. The Dolphins have wasted no time and have announced that TE coach, Dan Campbell will be their interim head coach for the remainder of the season or until the Dolphins can find a suitable replacement. Philbin’s firing comes in lieu of high expectations for the Dolphins which have been all but diminished.
