A few weeks back it was reported that Miami Dolphins center was subpoenaed after a game against the New England Patriots. The subpoena called for the center to testify before the grand jury stemming from the Aaron Hernandez murder trial. Investigators reportedly went after Pouncey for his and Hernandez’s connection to an interstate gun trafficking ring that includes Florida, New York, and Massachusetts.
He missed practice to travel to Massachusetts today, The Palm Beach Post reports. Pouncey and his twin brother Maurkice were teammates with Hernandez during their college days at the University of Florida. Over the summer, the twins were photoed wearing “Free Hernandez” hats that caused an uproar. Neither brother has been charged with a crime while Hernandez sits in jail awaiting trial on a first degree murder charge as well as multiple gun charges. Mike Pouncey has not made any public statements regarding the subpoena.
