Screen shot 2014-01-28 at 2.37.56 PMMedia Day is always fun for both fans and players as there are no questions that are too outrageous to ask.  One even asked if this was a “must-win” game for either team, which clearly is not the brightest of questions!  Media personnel got a chance to ask players like Peyton Manning and Richard Sherman questions they never thought they would have to answer.

For Manning, he was questioned about his football “legacy”.  Something that he clearly was uncomfortable answering.  He said, “I thought you had to be like 70 to have a legacy.”  When you lead the greatest offense in NFL history, you have left a legacy regardless of your age!  He was also asked about his now famous audible “OMAHA” to which he said it is nothing new and other teams have used it including younger brother Eli.

Marshawn Lynch who was fined $50,000 earlier this season for not talking to the media, did not do much talking today either.  During an interview with Deion “PrimeTime” Sanders, he said “I’m just ’bout that action boss” when asked if he just did not enjoy talking to the media.  He sat down and talked to reporters for six minutes, but did sign autographs for fans.    When his head coach Pete Carroll was asked about his running backs brief appearance he said, “I heard he did six great minutes. Some comedians make a career off that.”

One of the most anticipated players to talk to was Richard Sherman after his post game comments two weeks ago got him on the lips of everyone.  He was much calmer and said he was humbled by the comparison to his idol Muhammad Ali.  He had very kind words for opposing quarterback Peyton Manning, calling him a “living legend”.  He was also asked his opinion on “throwing money at the strip clubs” to which he said, “I don’t go to the strip club.”  He did suggest maybe teaching young women that there are other avenues.  His only controversial comments came when he referred to New Jersey as a city, but worse things have been said about the state so he can get a pass.
