It is Day 2 of what seems like never ending drama for the Eastern Conference of the NBA. Where do we begin? Let’s start with the North and work our way down…
1. Boston Celtics- Well one veteran made his decision quietly. Kevin Garnett is going to stay loyal to the green and come back to the Celtics for another three years. It appears they have just gotten some help on the bench with their acquisition of Jason Terry, who is a former Sixth Man of the Year. However, that trophy seems to have a curse with it after we saw Lamar Odom have an awful year in Dallas and James Harden completely choke in the Finals against the Miami Heat. However, he can help give the starters a few minutes of rest since there is no way Doc Rivers is really gonna use him for much else. Another veteran who is looking else where is Ray Allen. It seems as though he is leaning towards departing and he just may take his talents to South Beach. In my opinion this is an absolutely awful move for Allen who would never see the ball with everyone on that time trying to shoot like Ray, but clearly THEY ARE NOT. Allen needs to realize he has it good in Boston because any other contending team he goes to will not make him as beloved as he is in Boston.
2. Brooklyn Nets- This is a team I am so sick of hearing about. First we could not get away from hearing about Kris Humphries and now we cannot stop hearing about all their big trade moves. Yes, Dereon Williams appears to finally be happy where he is as he agreed to a five year deal and rejected a deal set forth by his hometown team in Dallas. How did he make his decision? On Twitter naturally. Yesterday, the Nets acquired Joe Johnson from the Hawks after sending almost half their squad over to Atlanta. This move left no cap space left for the big acquisition of Dwight Howard. But why would that be the end of the story? Apparently everyone is giving in to King Dwight’s demands and trying to get some sort of trade worked out between the two teams. Seriously, can this trade just be made so everyone can stop talking about it. It is bad enough that suddenly everyone is a Nets fan. When they were in Jersey no one was going to their games. NOT ONE OF YOU FANS ROCKING THE NEW BROOKLYN FANS MADE THE TRIP ACROSS THE BRIDGE!
3. New York Knicks- It is amazing that the Knicks are actually being overshadowed by another team. However, it appears that this might be the way that their season is going to go. Landry Fields has apparently walked away from the team and signed with the Toronto Raptors. It also appears that Jeremy Lin is going to talk with Houston. It just might be the Carmelo and Amar’e show.
You know it is bad when the Knicks have the least amount of drama.
