Ever since his arrest for first degree murder, stories involving Aaron Hernandez have been coming out the woodworks. Between fights and domestic incidents with his fiancee, Hernandez is being painted as someone who never lived “the Patriot way”. Hernandez, who admitted to failed drug tests in college, seems to have a much darker past than once thought.
Hernandez’s fiancee, Shayanna Jenkins, had called the cops on Aaron while at their rental home in Hermosa Beach, CA. Jenkins claimed that she began arguing with Hernandez and he became so enraged he punched a window leaving his hand bloody. Neighbors claimed that Hernandez was a nightmare to live next to with constant partying and disregard for the law.
Reports have also surfaced accusing an underage Hernandez of punching a worker at a bar after getting into an altercation with him. This happened while Hernandez was a freshman at the University of Florida with teammate Tim Tebow who came to Hernandez’s defense. Hernandez never denied hitting the man, but was never charged because he was only seventeen. [Sidenote: Why was a 17-year-old let into a bar?]
While stories will continue to come out until this trial is over, it is not fair to assume that because Hernandez has a violent past that he committed this heinous crime. People are losing sight that a man was murdered and a mother lost her son. Nothing good ever seems to happen when athletes go out to clubs. Let this be a lesson to future athletes!
