This NBA season has flown by and it looks like All-Star Weekend, the unofficial midway point of the season, is only three weeks away. Â While most people don’t care to watch all the activities that go on, most people, including myself, love to see what Nike is going to put out as the shoe representatives for the game. Â Nike has officially released pictures of the new Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, and Lebron James show, all three of course were chosen as starters this year.
They went with a space theme to represent the city of Houston, Texas where the game will be played, but I have to be honest, I am not feeling them. Bryant’s shoes look like they are meant for running and not for the court. Â I still don’t know how he plays in low tops and has never twisted an ankle. The Durant shoe looks like the color of vomit and I can’t imagine people finding things to match them with in their closet.
I guess if I had to buy a pair it would have to be the Lebrons, but that is a stretch considering just how futuristic they are. Â They at least look like a real basketball shoe that has some decent coloring. Â If you are actually looking to play basketball in any of these, you came to the wrong place because for one, I have no idea which shoe is the best for basketball and two, these shoes are worth way too much money to be ruined on the court.
Last year they had a similar theme when they went for a galaxy theme. Â Nike could have been a little bit more creative in choosing a theme not as close to last year’s, and maybe used a little less color in my opinion. Â I am sure people will play a crazy amount of money for them, but I am just not impressed. Â What do you think about the shoes? Â Would you run out and buy them? Â Here is a closer look at the shoes:
