Ndamukong Suh has become known as one of the dirtiest player in the NFL and it looks like he will not be losing that anytime soon. Some say that the media paints him as a dirty player to try to vilify him while others actually believe that Suh plays dirty. No matter where Suh goes or what he does, he always manages to get a lot of attention regardless of how well he actually plays or how much of a nice guy he might be away from football.
His most publicized play was obviously involving Aaron Rodgers, but even before that, there were many plays that were called into question, including hits on Andy Dalton and Jay Cutler. During his time in the NFL, Suh has also acclimated over $250,000 dollars in fines, but still continues to plead his innocence.
Playing dirty against the Texans or the Bengals is a lot different than playing dirty against the Packers which resulted in Suh being suspended. The video shows clear evidence of Suh stepping down on Rodgers’ leg and Rodgers punching him, trying to get Suh off of him. However, many have tried to excuse this, claiming it was an accident. Suh claimed that the ground was too cold and he couldn’t feel what he was stepping on.  Out on the football field, there’s usually just players, the ball and a referee, making those the only possible things that Suh could step on and usually when someone is punching someone else, they can feel it. The NFL apparently sided with Suh on the matter and he paid $70,000 to play in the Lions game versus Dallas.
After last season, Suh was not re-signed by the Lions and instead became a free agent. He was picked up by the Miami Dolphins and signed with them until 2021. Apparently, the heat of Miami was really getting to Suh though, because he made another dirty play in their week 1 game versus the Washington Redskins. If you’re not sure about what happened, it has been alleged that when Suh got up, he kicked Washington’s RB Alfred Morris’ helmet off. Since the incident has occurred, the NFL has deemed that Suh will not be receiving a fine or a suspension.
When asked about the incident, Suh gave a very Suh-like response, “I tackled him plenty of times during the game, so I’m not really certain what you are speaking of.” While the incident occurred after the play, it could still be seen as a conflict of interest and only seemed to add to the argument that Suh is a dirty player. Apparently, there was another incident where Suh had his hands in Redskins Morgan Moses’ facemask, but nothing has been released on that situation.
No matter what Suh does, he will always end up being called a dirty player. Suh doesn’t feel like he has to apologize for how he plays and that will never change. The dirtiest player in the NFL is also one of the highest-paid defenders too. That just goes to show that no matter how dirty a player is, someone will pay them to do what they’re good at.
[…] are the Jags big brothers and I doubt there is much the Jags can do to keep up with that pass rush. Ndamukong Suh was not suspended after his extracurriculars last week. Take the Dolphins and suck up the 6 points. […]
