Ndamukong Suh has built a reputation around the NFL of being a guy who plays dirty and goes out and tries to hurt opposing players. He is most famous for the “Thanksgiving kick” in which he stomped on the arm of Green Bay Packers player Evan Dietrich-Smith after the play had ended and then kicking Matt Schaub in the “groin area” exactly one year later. Whether or not the second kick was intentional is up for debate, but it was pretty clear the kick on Dietrich-Smith was meant to hurt him. He has long been considered the league’s dirtiest players. However, Suh, who is not playing in this week’s Super Bowl, has taken on a new venture in reality television. He is competing on a new show called “Splash” in which ‘celebrities’ dive into a pool. It doesn’t real sound like an entertaining show, but instead a way for people to get hurt.
Suh’s teammates felt the same and discouraged him for participating in the show. However, it seems that the show has done something positive for Suh’s reputation. Yesterday, during taping for the show, fellow contestant comedian Louie Anderson was so exhausted that he could not get out of the pool by himself and looked like he might drown. Luckily, 6’4″ 307 pound defensive linebacker was there to save the day! He ran to Anderson’s rescue and lifted the comedian out of the water. Louie was fine and Suh can now be considered a hero! It’s funny how reality television can help some people, but honestly this show sounds awful. If this show lasts more than one episode, I would be surprised.
