We are down to the final four NFL teams in the quest for the Lombardi trophy. This weekend will feature four teams who can all claim they deserve to win Super Bowl 55. Right now, Sports Betting Dime are favoring the Packers at -3. However, that can all change after this weekend and only two teams are left standing.
AFC Championship
Buffalo Bills vs. Kansas City Chiefs
While the NFC game features two titans in the NFL, the AFC game is about the league’s next generation. Reigning Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes is the face of the league as this will be the third straight AFC Championship to be played at Arrowhead Stadium. In contrast, Bills QB Josh Allen put on a show this season and made everyone pay attention to Buffalo.
Everyone is waiting to see if Kansas City QB Patrick Mahomes will be cleared to play. He has participated in practice every day this week which should make Kansas City fans feel optimistic. Mahomes was visibly shaken after taking a big hit to the head from Cleveland defender Mack Wilson. He was unable to finish the game after being ruled out with a concussion. Other players are also getting healthy who didn’t play last week including WR Sammy Watkins and RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Even if Mahomes is unable to compete, Buffalo should absolutely not expect this to be an easy win. Kansas City is one of the most talented offenses with playmakers at every skill position.
When these two teams met in the regular season, it was Kansas City who walked away with a win, 26-17. Josh Allen had his worst game of the season against Kansas City. Since then, he and Stefon Diggs have become one of the best duos in the league. Allen finished the season completing 69.2 percent of his passes, putting him at the top of QB class. Fans can expect Buffalo to put more than 17 points in this game. It won’t be easy to take down the reigning champs, but this Buffalo team is riding high with something to prove.
NFC Championship
Green Bay Packers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
This will be the first meeting of the two legendary QBs in the playoffs. Last week Tampa Bay knocked off QB legend Drew Brees and the Saints. Now the Bucs’ defense must take out Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers has played like the MVP of the league this season. His connection with Davante Parker has been the best in the league. The Packers also have a three-headed running attack of Aaron Jones, A.J. Dillion, and Jamaal Williams. With Parker likely to see double coverage all game, the running game will become even more vital. Rodgers’ only bad game this season was against Tampa Bay. The Bucs’ defense gave him fits including five sacks. It’s hard to imagine Green Bay’s offensive line playing that badly again. To make the game even more special, this will be Rodger’s first NFC Championship game at Lambeau.
This will be Tom Brady’s fourteenth Conference Championship game. A truly incredible stat to define such an incredible NFL career. He is still motivated to get his SEVENTH ring and will consider anything less a failure. In his first NFC Championship game, Brady has serious weapons around him. When these teams met, Tampa Bay had not yet acquired Antonio Brown. The Packers could not stop RB Ronald Jones in their regular-season meeting. Jones was able to get in the end zone twice while Brady had an average showing.
The Bucs’ defense led by DC Todd Bowles is no joke and will get after Rodgers if last week’s game is any indication. The Bucs were able to eliminate New Orleans’ entire passing attack last week. The Packers’ offensive line will have their hands full with Tampa Bay’s two speedy LB Devin White and Lavonte David’s added pressure.
