A hockey game like the Honda NHL All-Star game needs a jersey that is fresh, stands out, and complements the players wearing it, and that is exactly what the game is going to have on Jan. 25. A bold uniform design has been unveiled that fits the occasion perfectly. It complements the speed and agility of the selected players, has a modern appeal, and represents energy.
The jerseys, created by Reebok, are considered to be state-of-the-art and unique, fully adorned with green trim on either a black “home” jersey or a white “away” jersey. The “elite green” color that will be used on the All-Star jerseys are actually in the necklines of all authentic NHL jerseys. A uniform designer at Reebok, Dave Conetta, believes that the uniform will give off the idea of a hero coming alive. The brand wanted to create something that the fans hadn’t seen before, and they did that that.
The shield of the uniform has a chrome effect, while the body of it has a bit more texture and variety in the finishes. The volume of the colors in the shield are raised, and also offer a new view on what a hockey crest could actually be. Inside the shield are two stars that show representation of the two League conferences. With six to eight designers working on the All-Star Game jerseys for the past few years, Reebok ultimately wanted a product that could be communicated through different mediums. The brand thought it was important to keep it current and relate it to the digital age we are in, by using different textures and graphic elements, they knew it would resonate well on digital mobiles and on TV, just like it would in person at the Nationwide Arena.
You can catch the technologically advanced uniforms on ice during the game on Jan. 25, which will take place at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio!
