Yes, don’t worry, you read the title right!

Just a week after the Chicago Blackhawks celebrated their coveted victory, the NHL announced the highly anticipated 2015-16 season schedule.

Opening night kicks off on Wednesday, Oct. 7 in Chicago, where the Blackhawks will take on the New York Rangers. The other three games on the opening night of the 2015-16 season include a rivalry renewal between the Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs, the Vancouver Canucks and the Calgary Flames in a tension-filled re-match of a 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs First Round series; and the Los Angeles Kings up against the San Jose Sharks at STAPLES Center.

The Blackhawks will help open up a new era for the New York Islanders on Friday, Oct. 9, for the first-ever regular season NHL game being played at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. This season marks the first season that the Islanders will play their home games at Barclays Center.

One New Year’s Day, the Boston Bruins will host the Montreal Canadiens in the 2016 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.

The regular-season schedule will break from Jan.28-Feb 1. for the 2016 NHL All-Star Weekend in Nashville, Tennessee.

 

The 2016 Coors Light Stadium Series will feature two games. On Sunday, Feb. 21,the Minnesota Wild will take on the Blackhawks at TCF Bank Stadium on the University of Minnesota campus. The following weekend, on Saturday, Feb. 27, the Colorado Avalanche will make their debut in a regular-season outdoor NHL game when they play the Detroit Red Wings at Coors Field in Denver.

All 30 teams will take the ice on Saturday, April 9, to mark the final day of the regular season, one that may be more intense than the last.
