The NHL’s brightest stars are going to come together for a fun, sun-filled weekend in Los Angeles at the end of January for the All-Star Game, but before that happens, each division needs a captain. Each division needs to chose the individual who will help lead their team to victory, help his fellow comrades shine, and make for a great night at the Staples Center. Well, the decisions have finally been made and here they are:
For the Atlantic Division, it will be Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price. Price captured the most votes in his division. The goalie is 19-5-4 this season with a .804 save percentage.
Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins will captain the Metropolitan squad. This is Crosby’s first all-star game appearance after injuries constantly knocked him out the last few seasons. He currently leads all of hockey with 26 goals.
P.K. Subban, defenseman for the Nashville Predators, has been chosen as captain for the Central Division. In the beginning, Patrick Kane was leading the charge until Subban took a commanding lead, but now with Subban out on injured reserve, the captain’s vacancy remains an open book at this point.
Finally, the Pacific division. Edmonton Oilers phenom and captain, Connor McDavid, will be in charge. Just this summer, he was named the youngest captain in Edmonton history, and now, he has even more on his plate with taking charge of some teammates that are twice his age!
The all-star weekend is scheduled to take place from January 27-29th in sunny Los Angeles, California. The skills competition will be held on January 28th, with the 3-on-3 game being on Sunday, the 29th. If you haven’t voted yet, hurry up so your favorites make it!
