They already have a spot in the Big Ten championship after defeating Indiana and look to continue their undefeated season.  They have already climbed to the third ranked school in the nation with Florida State and Alabama ahead of them.  With Alabama playing Auburn today, Ohio State could find its way in the BCS Championship game.  FSU also has its problems with quarterback Jameis Winston still being investigated for his alleged involvement in a sexual assault.

The Wolverines have not had quite as much success this season, but look to end Ohio State’s winning streak and BCS Championship aspirations.  Michigan was a ranked team to start the season, but three losses in a span of four games has the Wolverines out of contention for any championships.  There was question about Brady Hoke’s job this season, but Michigan Athletic Director Dave Brandon cleared up any rumors and said Hoke’s job is safe.   Hoke said that he did not feel like an underdog in this matchup which should give is team confidence despite Ohio State being favored by over two touchdowns.

Despite their struggles to find consistency, Ohio State players respect what this team is capable of.  Offensive lineman Jack Mewhort explained, “It’s always a tough, smash-mouth game. We’re prepared to get their best shot, and they’re going to get ours, too. The records aren’t really a big deal this week.” Ohio State has a dual running game with quarterback Braxton Miller running for over 100 yard the past two games.  Miller has even been mentioned in the Heisman trophy running.  Running back Carlos Hyde has also contributed to the run game this season, running for 938 yards on the season.

While this is a classic rivalry, Ohio State should win this one.  Many might see this as a trap game, a game the school has overlooked as an easy win, but with this much passion behind it, I cannot see that.  When these two teams step on the field, they are equal.  It is about pride and both of these teams had this game circled on the calendar.  Ohio State vs. Michigan- who you takin?
