Continuing on with a recap of OTAs throughout the league, the NFC West is up.
Arizona Cardinals: The Cardinals are now in their second week of OTA’s and it was not the best start for them. Coach Bruce Arians made sure to voice his disapproval, saying “It’s not his job to get everyone motivated, it’s the veteran’s job”. Carson Palmer’s appearance was sure to perk up some spirits, along with Larry Fitzgerald and rookie, D.J. Humphries. Humphries is already looking like a disappointment due to his lack of maturity which Arians was quick to point out when asked about him. However, if Palmer can stay healthy, it looks like a pretty productive offseason for the Cardinals.
St. Louis Rams: The Rams are starting the latest with OTAs, having started them June 2nd. While there’s not much known about OTAs currently, there is certainly going to be some changes this year, especially with the drafting of Todd Gurley. Gurley has been compared to the likes of Marshawn Lynch and it is certainly going to be an interesting experience for their new offensive coordinator, Frank Cignetti. Of course, the Rams acquiring Nick Foles is certainly going to be another exciting facet to OTAs as well.
San Francisco 49ers: One of the breakout stars of the 49ers OTAs was Navorro Bowman. He was out for the 2014 season due to a torn ACL and he is already looking towards the future. Colin Kaepernick impressed during OTAs as well, making sure to pass to a multitude of receivers. Reggie Bush is also finding a home with the 49ers, but not just being a running back but instead as a punt returner. During OTAs, their first practice ended with a special teams practice that Bush participated in. Bush is looking to already being a futile part of the 49ers organization.
Seattle Seahawks: For the past few years, Seattle has been in trouble during OTAs due to breaking the contact policy. However this year, the Seahawks seemed to follow the rules, but there’s not much to rejoice about. Russell Wilson, Jimmy Graham, Cliff Avril and Marshawn Lynch were all not present, but head coach Pete Carroll praised RB Christine Michael. Michael is finally getting a little time to show off with Lynch absent and Carroll seems pleased with the results. With the loss of the Superbowl still fresh, the Seahawks are working even harder than before to prove themselves.
