Outside of New York hot spot 1 OAK, Pacers forward Chris Copeland and a woman, Katrine Saltara, alleged to be his wife were stabbed. Shezoy Bleary was arrested for allegedly stabbing the pair after an argument at 4am outside of the club. He was also accused of slashing another woman, Catherine Somani, in the abdomen area.
The pair were immediately taken to Bellevue Hospital and listed in stable condition. There has be no reason given to what started the fight outside of the nightclub. The Pacers had players the Knicks,Copeland’s former team, just hours before the incident.
Atlanta Hawks players Pero Antic and Thabo Sefolosha, in town to play the Brooklyn Nets tonight, were also at the club. Police allege the pair refused to get out of the way to allow officers to secure a crime scene. They have been charged with government obstruction. It is unclear if the players went to the club together or just happened to all be there.
