The future Hall of Fame small forward sat down with DuJour magazine to discuss life as a member of the Brooklyn Nets. Pierce talks about life in Brooklyn, including a story about going to a park in Greenpoint and playing three on three with a bunch of little kids. Pierce was traded along with teammate Kevin Garnett in a blockbuster trade in hopes that the aging stars can get one more ring. Nobody ever expected Pierce to be traded, as he is one of the greatest players to ever wear Boston green.
Pierce admits that he knew the trade was coming and that he did not learn about it through the media. When asked about the rivalry with the New York Knicks, he says that the rivalry is real and that the whether it is Boston or Brooklyn they are still fighting for the same title and that is where it comes from. He talks about his personal life, he is a father to three little ones (two girls and a 5-month old son), and says he was more worried about them feeling comfortable with the move. He gushes over how great it is to come home after a bad game and not being judged by them. Growing up in California, Pierce admired Magic Johnson and the “Showtime” Lakers.
