Sidney Crosby, hated, loved, idolized, wether you’re a fan of him or not, his name is totally recognizable. Crosby, number 87, and center on the Pittsburgh Penguins has seen extreme success, and it doesnt look like his success is going to wither away anytime soon. He is in just his 10th season with the NHL and has proven to be an exceptional player. With that being said, it should come as no surprise that he is the leader, so far, for the Hart Trophy. Seen as the League’s most valuable player just a quarter of the way through the season, it looks like he may just stay in the leading spot.
At the age of 27, Crosby is considered a model of consistency in leading the NHL’s top offensive team with 26 points in only 19 games, and definitely deserves a lot more credit than he is given. He has only gone two games this season without scoring a point, which is pretty impressive. While his minutes are managed and his ice time for the season so far has been seven seconds shy of 19 minutes per game, this plan that is in play may actually benefit him as an individual, and it will benefit the team as a whole. Not only will this help to ensure that his high energy and excellence will last throughout the season, but it will also help to make sure it can last through the postseason.
Wether he is liked or not, with the sportsmanship and enhanced skills he is utitlizing this season, it would come as no surprise that he would go on to win the trophy. Best of luck Crosby!
