Over the last few days, there have been tons of rumors about the great Phil Jackson coming in to save the day for the New York Knicks. Many thought with the disappointing season the Knicks are having, nobody, let alone Jackson, would want to step in and try to turn this franchise around. However, after being promised a lot of power and a lot of money, it looks like it will officially happen. Today, the team sent out this mysterious tweet somewhat confirming the Zen Master is on his way. Many believe that major announcement to be the addition of Phil Jackson. Currently, Steve Mills is the president of basketball operations, but once Jackson takes over he will still remain a part of the franchise. It is unclear to what capacity. The Knicks have started to turn their season. They are only three and a half games out of the eighth seed in the East which may sound terrible, but it is progress for this team who looked horrible at times this season.
This addition could be seen as a little minute effort to try and keep Carmelo Anthony, but he has publicly said it will not affect his decision. The two are expected to have a meeting at the end of the season to discuss the future of the team. Jackson is expected to make around $12 million a year.
