One person who has worked with some of basketball’s best and understand the pressure of having to be great, is former Bulls and Lakers coach Phil Jackson. He has gotten the respect of all of those who have played under him. Recently, he spoke out about Lamar Odom, a man he coached and won a title with in the past. Odom has been going through a very difficult personal and professional strength that has been well documented in the press. Jackson was specifically asked if Odom’s new public life was a factor in his alleged drug binge.
Jackson admitted that when Odom first got married to Khloe Kardashian, he was happy for him because now he had a family unit that he always wanted. Now, however, Jackson thinks differently about the public marriage saying “maybe it wasn’t” such a great idea. Jackson says multiple personnel from the Los Angeles Lakers have attempted to get a hold of Lamar, but failed. “No one can get through to Lamar — basically, I think he’s thrown his cell phone away. We’re very concerned about it, but I hear things are looking up,” Jackson said.
Basketball season has started and Odom is still not on any roster. He did make a public appearance with estranged wife Khloe Kardashian at a Kanye West concert, how convenient.
