With less than a week to go in the NBA regular season, there is still much to sort out in the Western Conference. Three teams, Phoenix Suns (47-32), Memphis Grizzlies (47-32) and Dallas Mavericks (48-32) are battling for the final two seeds in the West.
It seems as though they will sort it out amongst themselves, as there will be plenty head-to-head matchups down the stretch:
Suns remaining schedule: at Mavericks, vs. Grizzlies, at Kings
Grizzlies remaining schedule: at Lakers, vs. Suns, vs. Mavericks
Mavs remaining schedule: vs. Suns, at Grizzlies
ESPN’s John Hollinger has projected the playoff odds of each team, Dallas has a 77.7 percent chance, Memphis 70.6 percent and Phoenix 51.7 percent.As we stand currently, Dallas is in the seventh seed, Memphis the eighth. The Mavs are only a half game ahead of Memphis and Phoenix. The Grizzlies hold the tiebreaker against the Suns.
The team that squeezes in as the eighth seed will be lucky team to draw the 62-18 San Antonio Spurs, while the seventh seed will face the Oklahoma City Thunder (58-21).
