The Rams are in a very tough spot after losing their starting quarterback Sam Bradford was injured last week. Bradford tore his ACL last week against the Carolina Panthers and was placed on season-ending injured reserve. It is tough to lose a quarterback in the middle of the season, but the Rams are desperate! So desperate that they reached out to retired quarterback Brett Favre. The 44-year-old last played in the NFL in 2009 with the Minnesota Vikings. Favre did have success that year bringing the Vikings to within one game of the Super Bowl.
While he admitted that offer was “flattering”, but he admits, “there’s no way I’m going to do that”. After being turned down by Favre, the Rams signed Brady Quinn who was released by the New York Jets earlier this week. Favre may have been a good choice ten years ago, but this just shows how weak the options are for teams. Many expected Tim Tebow to be signed by the Rams, but after witnessing the media circus in New York with him I think everyone has decided to go another route. The Rams have another former Jets quarterback starting for them on Monday night in Kellen Clemens. Vince Young is still available St. Louis; at least the Cardinals are in the World Series St. Louis fans!
