Who would have predicted the San Francisco 49ers would be 1-2 with their quarterback Colin Kaepernick throwing zero touchdowns and four interceptions over the past two games? After their run to the Super Bowl last year, I would guess no one. However, the 49ers have lost Michael Crabtree, Mario Manningham, and Vernon Davis has been injured and this is their reality. Tonight they look to even their record with a win against division foe St. Louis Rams. The 49ers will also be without All-Pro linebacker Aldon Smith who has entered a treatment facility to deal with personal issues.
The Rams are a team looking to find its identity. In the offseason, St. Louis said goodbye to its start running back Steven Jackson who signed a contract with the Atlanta Falcons. Now they are left to figure out if Sam Bradford is their franchise quarterback and if it right to build around him. The Rams got the best of the 49ers last season never losing to them.
The 49ers cannot afford to lose another game as they watch the Seattle Seahawks continue to be undefeated. Losing this game would make them 0-2 in their division. With their injury list constantly growing every week, they cannot afford to fall further back. I do not for see that happening tonight. I have been high on the 49ers because of what they did Week 1. They were dominant against a dominant team, but have looked nothing like that since. If they can go back to the read option team they were last year, they can look like it again. The Rams’ have a better run defense so they will once again need to rely on Kaepernick’s arm. 49ers vs. Rams- Who You Takin?
