It has been a long week for Texans QB Matt Schaub. Schaub was benched during Sunday Night’s game against the 49ers after throwing another pick-six, as well as two other interceptions. The Texans offense only mustered three points against the 49ers. During the week, an angry fan allegedly showed up outside of Schaub’s home to take pictures and tell him exactly how he thinks the quarterback is doing.
Luckily for Schaub and all of his teammates, they get to go out there today and change everyone’s perception of them. Head Coach Gary Kubiak stated that Schaub would start this week, but that it was a very “tough decision” for him. This will be a perfect time for him to bounce back against a Ram’s defense who only has three interceptions. Bad news for the Rams, they may be without corner back Cortland Finnegan. This could be good news for Andrew Johnson as well as he is dealing with some lingering injuries. The Texans are already without tight end Owen Daniels who broke his leg and is out indefinitely.
This will be the week the Texans turn it around. They are one of the most talented teams in the NFL and they just need to get their confidence in one another back. Schaub will play better and will end his pick-six streak this week. The Rams are still trying to find their identity after Steven Jackson’s departure to Atlanta which the Texans should exploit. The Rams have not been getting first round pick Tavon Austin as involved in the offense yet, and are still figuring out where he belongs. Rams vs. Texans- who you takin?
