The Toronto Raptors are in danger of being swept yet again by the reigning Eastern Conference champions Cleveland Cavaliers.
In their third consecutive loss, the Cavaliers defeated the Raptors 105-103 on Saturday night. Cleveland now leads the series 3-0. The next game is on Monday in Cleveland, and if Toronto loses, they will be swept by the Cavaliers for the second time in franchise history. The Cavaliers previously swept the Raptors in last season’s conference semifinals.
Toronto trailed the Cavaliers the entire game. The Raptors rallied a bit in the final quarter, to go from being down by 18 points, to tying the game. However, in the last eight seconds, LeBron made an unbelievable basket to win the game.
Toronto All-Star DeMar DeRozan was not playing his best this game. He scored only eight points in the 28 minutes he played, sitting out most of the fourth quarter. O.G Anunoby really stepped it up, however, playing 33 minutes and scoring 18 points. Kyle Lowry ended the game with 27 points, and Jonas Valunciunas achieved another double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. The Raptors bench players saw a lot of action though, averaging 28 minutes of play time. They also combined to score 50 points.
As usual, LeBron James was the star of the show. He scored 38 points and had 6 rebounds and 7 assists, and played for a total of 41 minutes. As well, he also scored the winning shot of the game, crushing the Raptors chance of bringing the game to overtime. Kevin Love also played a great game, with 21 points and 16 rebounds. Guard Kyle Korver finished the game with 18 points, George Hill had 12 points, and Jeff Green had 11 points.
Raptor’s fans are wishing for a miracle as we head into game 4. Hopefully the team can pull it together enough to win this one game so we can bring it back home for game 5.
