The Cowboys are coming off Tony Romo’s best performance, while the Redskins are trying to turn their season around. They play tonight for the battle of the NFC East, the biggest disappointment of a division as a whole. One thing that these two teams have in common is that both of their defenses have surrendered a lot of points. The Redskins give up 441 yards on average, while the Cowboys surrender 409. Last week, the Cowboys gave up 51 points to the Denver Broncos.
One positive note for the Redskins, is that RG3 is going to get better and better. He has now technically played a full preseason and he should return to his explosive running self shortly. Both of these teams can protect the run well, Dallas only giving up 81 rushing yards on average, meaning even if he wants to run, it does not mean the Cowboys’ defense will let that happen.
Coming off a bye week, I think the Redskins will play better than they have all season. However, I do not think the will beat the Cowboys tonight. Dallas provided enough offense to balance out all the points their defense surrendered. I do not trust the Redskins fully that they can account for the points their defense allows. The Cowboys get Miles Austin back this week to add their list of receivers. The Redskins will be fired up, but it won’t be enough to beat Dallas. Cowboys vs. Redskins- who you takin?
