By now everyone has heard the comments Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman made after his team won the NFC Championship over arch-rival San Francisco. Â Sherman made the play of the game when he batted down a touchdown pass that was intercepted by his teammate Malcolm Smith in the final moments of the game. Â He ran up to Michael Crabtree trying to shake his hand after a very physical game, but Crabtree wanted no part in it and pushed Sherman’s helmet away.
During a post game interview with Fox Sports Erin Andrews, Sherman told her, “When you try me with a sorry receiver like Crabtree, that’s the result you’re gonna get. Don’t you ever talk about me.”  He was then shown making a choking sign, putting his hands around his neck, at the 49ers players.  He letter confirmed that it was a message for quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
NFL Commissioner was not too happy with Sherman’s actions and today he was fined $7,875 for taunting his opponent. Â No other player was fined for actions during the game. Â The day after the game, Sherman apologized for his comments, calling them “immature”.
