Such a tragic event. Sarah Burke, a 29-year-old Canadian freeskier, has passed away. She was originally injured on January 11th after crashing at the bottom of the superpipe during a training run in Utah. Multiple tests showed that the crash caused ‘irreversible brain damage due to lack of oxygen and blood after cardiac arrest’. This is the pipe that Kevin Pearce, a snowboarder, suffered a traumatic brain injury. As per her request, all of her organs were donated. My prayers and condolences go out to her family.
