The 2014 Winter Olympics is coming to an end in Sochi. With just a couple of events left, Russia has already taken the title for most overall medals this year. After sweeping the men’s 50 kilometer cross-country race, Russia finishes with 33 total medals, including 13 gold. The United States, after failing to get a medal in men’s hockey or any event yesterday, finishes with 28 overall medals with nine gold medals.
With the gold medal in men’s hockey going to Canada, there are no events left this year. After much talk about possible attacks on the games, it is great to see that everything went as planned, except when the Olympic rings did not all light up during the Opening Ceremony.
