It looked like Rutgers could take the down the Big East giant Syracuse. However, as the second half started slowly ticking away, they lost it. They definitely put up a great fight especially for a team that is almost all underclassmen. In a game that Rutgers mainly trailed by one or two possessions before you knew it, they were down seven with a minute left in the game. The final score being 74-64. Syracuse sophomore forward C.J. Fair led the team with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Senior guard Scoop Jardin put the dagger in Rutgers’ fans hearts when he hit a three pointer with a minute left to put Syracuse up seven. Lithuanian-born sophomore Gilvydas Biruta led the Scarlet Knights with 21 points and 7 rebounds.
