The Carolina Panthers have become one of the best story lines in the NFL this year. Cam Newton has finally lived up to his potential and started showing the consistency fans had been waiting to see. However, it is the defense led by Luke Kuechly, has gotten most of the attention. Tonight, they head into the Superdome to try and hand the Saints their second loss in a row. The Saints are coming off a terrible game against the Seattle Seahawks, a game in which neither their offense nor their defense looked prepared to play.
The Panthers are a team on the rise while the Saints had a lot of success early in the season thanks in part to a division that struggled, but are now looking to stay above water. The teams are tied and if the Saints do not win the division, it could result in them having to go on the road for most of the playoffs. It has already been pretty much decided that the road to the Super Bowl will have to go through Seattle, one of the hardest places to play.
This is going to be a fun game between two teams that have a lot to play for. The Panthers are peaking at just the right time and I think they could pull of a major upset tonight. The Saints have had sluggish periods in their history and I think this is what is happening right now. Who does not love an underdog story especially when they are as talented as this Panthers team?
