After a major Game 3 win, the Spurs took the court in Game 4 hungry for leftovers, however what was to come left even the 2-time defending champs speechless… or in this case, without an appetite.
Gassed mid way through the second and down 19 at the half, it was now clear to the Miami players, coaching staff, and fans alike the previous matchup was not just a win for San Antonio, but a statement in their road to redemption as it was presently repeating itself like a bad nightmare.
A well-balanced and versatile team attack with break out star, Kawhi Leonard, leading the way for the Spurs with 20 points, the men in black and silver left no room for comfort and made sure their presence was known. San Antonio, heading home, has now taken a 3-1 lead in the series and are just one win away from the franchise’s 5th NBA championship.
It’s without a doubt, the Miami “Heat”, are surely feeling it now heading into a Game 5 elimination game, with hopes to complete the 3-peat still ringing in the back of their minds.
