Every week, a new football player is facing a suspension for some type of drug use. According to Mike Silver, this week it is Seattle Seahawks’ cornerback Brandon Browner. According to Silver, he is facing an eight game suspension for using PEDs. This would be Browner’s second suspension for use of PEDs. He missed the last four games of last season. He is not currently playing, and instead nursing a groin injury that is expected to keep him out until mid-December. The Seahawks are already down a cornerback with Walter Thurmond III getting suspended this past Sunday for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. Seattle has signed veteran Antoine Winfield in the wake of the loss of Thurmond and now possibly Browner.
Browner, who is in the final year of his contract, took to his Twitter page to deny these reports. Seattle has lost five players since 2011 to PED suspensions, the most of any team in the league. Sources say that is unlikely that Browner returns to the team.
